The Superintendence of Electricity and Fuels (SEC) published on July 2nd of 2019, a new draft Protocol “PE Nº 8/9:2019 Safety Analysis and Testing of Electric Product”.

This protocol establishes the procedure of certification for  Switched-mode External Power Supplies for Computers (Desktop and Portable) and Tablet Chargers, that are going to be commercialized in Chile, according to the scope and field of application of the IEC standard 60950-1:2005/COR1:2006.

PE Nº 8/9:2019 establishes the Testing Procedures based on IEC standard as well as the Certification Process for each Certification System applicable in Chile for this type of products.
