EMC Certification
EMC Certification and Declarations of Conformity
Turn EMC test evidence into the certificate, declaration, or filing each market requires before an electrical product can be placed on the market.
EMC Certification
EMC certification is the document a market will ask to see, not the plot from the chamber.
EMC testing shows how the product behaves. Certification, a declaration, or a national filing is what turns that behavior into permission to sell. The form depends on the market: a supplier's declaration in one place, a certificate from a named body in another.
ORBIS takes the evidence from EMC testing and produces the document each target market actually accepts, including the technical file that has to sit behind it.
How ORBIS scopes it
What decides the file
The configuration
The declaration has to name the product that was tested. A family claim we cannot defend is a finding.
The standard list
Each market adopts EMC standards with its own deviations. The document has to cite the ones that apply.
Keeping it current
A design change that affects emissions or immunity reopens the declaration. We say when that has happened.
Questions
Before you start
Is a test report the same as a certificate?
+
No. The report is the measurement. The certificate or declaration is the claim a market relies on.
Can one declaration cover every country?
+
Only where those countries accept the same standards and the same form. We split the file where they do not.
Bring the product and the markets.
We will tell you which of this work applies, which evidence you already have, and what still has to be done before the product ships.
