Safety Certification
Safety Certification for Global Market Access
Turn a safety test report into the certificate, mark, and factory follow-up a market requires before the product can be sold.
Safety Certification
A passing safety test is not yet permission to apply the mark.
Safety certification is the step after the test. A certification body reviews the report, the construction, the critical components, and the factory, then grants a certificate the market will recognize. The mark on the product follows that grant, not the lab's last page.
ORBIS takes the safety evidence from electrical safety testing and carries it through the certification scheme each market applies, including the surveillance the certificate depends on.
How ORBIS scopes it
What decides the file
The right scheme
A certificate from a body one market trusts may not be the one the next market asks for. We choose the scheme before the mark is designed.
The construction
Certification reviews how the product is built, not only how it tested. A later part change can void the grant.
The file stays open
Surveillance and renewals are part of keeping the mark. We do not treat the certificate as a one-time PDF.
Questions
Before you start
We already have the test report. Why is there another step?
+
The report is evidence. Certification is the decision a named body makes, and the mark you are allowed to apply.
Does this include the laboratory work?
+
The testing is scoped as electrical safety testing. This service is the certification that uses that evidence.
Bring the product and the markets.
We will tell you which of this work applies, which evidence you already have, and what still has to be done before the product ships.
